I didn’t know what GMO, BPA, or Red 40 meant until I had kids, and I didn’t try very hard to avoid pesticides, preservatives or artificial colorings & flavorings in my food choices until recently either. Ignorance is bliss, unless you’re ignorant about the things you’re eating & feeding to your children. Nutrition and health are at the very top of my list of parenting priorities, and the books and websites below have been some of the most helpful tools in my mission to provide healthier foods to my family & teach our kids the importance of making good choices on their own. Once you learn more about the food you’re eating, it actually becomes very easy to avoid the harmful chemicals and additives and truly prefer “real” food. It’s so important to teach your kids so they understand what they’re eating too!
