The Big Day!

Andrew woke me up at 6:40 a.m. on our wedding day. He sat straight up in bed and followed a gasp with “IT’S WEDDING DAY!” It was so cute & completely melted my heart. Everyone else was still asleep, so I took Andrew for a walk on the beach and we rocked on the front porch for awhile. It was really nice having that time alone with him before all of the chaos began.

Bunny on the boardwalk on the day of our wedding... that has to be good luck, right?

That smile melts me every time.

Once Jason and his parents were up, we went to breakfast at Another Broken Egg Cafe in Grayton Beach.

Vendors were scheduled to arrive soon after we got back to the house. Jason and I spent a few minutes on the veranda chatting and enjoying the view and breeze, and then he left us to get ready at his brother’s condo. My first priority was making sure Andrew was fed and had a GOOD nap, and then I began getting myself ready. It was so exciting to pull my dress out of the bag for the first time and hang it up in the room.

Back from breakfast and ready for some action!

The bedroom where I got ready was so beautiful!

That big binder on the right is full of all our vendor info, day-of schedule, contracts, etc. and all those boxes are holding our wedding shoes!

About the time I put Andrew down for his nap, everyone showed up to begin setting up and getting ready… everyone but my makeup/hair stylist. Her GPS sent her 45 minutes in the wrong direction. I began worrying that she might not make it, but she showed up just in time. On the bright side, it gave me some time to snack and relax. I was really surprised by how calm I was all day. I think it had a lot to do with the down-time I had with Jason and Andrew that morning.

Our photographer Kate Crafton and her lovely second shooter Anna Bonick arrived right as I began getting ready, and that’s when the real fun began!
